So many kind generous people are stepping forward to help the Savanette community. Looking at the extreme damage, it is hard to know where to begin. Food of course is the first step. Since all the gardens are destroyed, access to food is severely limited, there are no jobs, we are feeding everyone who comes at least a small amount of rice. We have contacted all of the big organizations but so far have had no help at all. Most of the houses in the area are destroyed or at best only have a shell left of their house, We have begun to buy sheet metals so they can build a very simple shelter from the rain. The first people who got them were families with babies. Wanting to be as fair as possible we have now developed a lottery system.
