This is one of my favorite pictures because there is so much happening here.  Children are chiildren all over the world.  One boy has on women's underwear and one young man is dying. Notice that no girls have matching shoes.No child has ever been happier than this when she received her first doll. Marblehead City replaced their playground and we shipped this one to our school.  The children had to be taught how to use it!Hurricanes make survival and travel almost impossible. This is the road to the school during Hurricane Noel.These twins were starving because mom wasn't eating enough to nurse them.  Infant mortality is very high in Haiti.
We installed a solar panel at the school which was the first light the community had ever seen.Haitian men are always very eager to work with us. One of the generators that we shipped is pumping water at the orphange near the school. Soccer is very popular in Haiti.  On our fall trip we will be cleaning a field on our property and taking nets for team play.Donkeys are still a popular way to get products to market. We have wonderful young men in Cayes that work very hard for us when we are back home. Children in the orphanges want so badly to be loved!Men work very hard to transport products.Ft. Meigs Elementary in Perrysburg Ohio sent backpacks filled with many gifts. Our bread oven is allowing us to feed all the children and staff everyday throughout the year. Matchbox cars are an always so very much appreciated. Classrooms look very different in Haiti.Before this well, students only had incredibly dirty water to drink.  Parasites are a huge prolbem in Haiti.Many of the homes in Savanette are made from woven banana leaves and stalks.All children that come to clinic receive a toy.  Meadowvale School in Toledo raised over $2000 with a Penny Challenge.Nixon Cadet is our Island Coordinator. Our children walk for miiles to attend school.  We send wide tire bikes to allow more children to come.Even a simple notebook is a treasured gift to the children.The children are simply beautiful. They are the reason we do our work in Haiti.I wish that we could bring Patrick, a restavek (slave) home with us.  We met Patrick when he was 11 and fell in love with him. 10% of children in Haiti are restaveks. We  have this wonderful little church close to our school.  Attendiing there when we are in Cayes is a tremendous blessing to us.Providing clean water is crucial for commnunity health and progress. When we are there we always have a party and feed the children more food then they could dream of.
